Our Story

Founded in 2008 in Kampala, Uganda, we work with NGOs, government agencies, foundations, and corporations who are seeking local technical expertise and partners. We specialize in working with local staff to deliver market research, custom technology solutions, and investment in emerging markets.

Jon Gosier is a respected blogger, software developer, and designer working at the intersection of data science, human rights, and global development. Jon is a sought after speaker having presented at the United Nations ECOSOC Partner Forum, TED, Strata, Personal Democracy Forum, Google Zeitgeist and a number of other conferences. Ahmed Maawy has spent more than 10 years developing web, mobile, and enterprise software as well as being a project manager for a number of software products and projects. He has worked with corporations and non profits alike, as well as media agencies such as Al Jazeera, Internews Europe, Ushahidi and DataDyne.


Bahiyah holds a degree in International Relations and has worked with large NGOs including the Council on Foreign Relations and Ashoka in both administrative and consulting roles.

In 2010 we invested in one of Africa's most prominent innovation hubs, Hive Colab, in Kampala, Uganda. It serves as a training facility and event space for our corporate partners like Mozilla, Microsoft and more!

Africa's Entrepreneur Accelerator

Apps4Africa is an acceleration program we founded to help discover and fund Africa's next generation of brilliant innovators.

Innovation Hub

We founded, Hive CoLab, Uganda's own innovation hub and collaborative workspace in the capital of Kampala.

Software Development

We've developed software solutions for partners like Frontline:SMS, Grameen Foundation, UNICEF, LivingGoods, and Google.

Promoting STEM Education

We had the pleasure of participating in British Airway's flagship UnGrounded "hackathon" in the sky" to promote STEM education.

Crisis Response and Human Rights

We've developed and maintain a number of efforts for protecting human rights.


In 2008 we helped Google translate their website to make it relevant in Uganda.


We help our partners make sense of large amounts of data through visualization.
